The "width" of the snap-on part is listed and is smaller than the rims on my 10 gallon and 40 gallon tanks. All 6 of them. They have typical rims. The plastic fan-to-tank connector is non-adjustable and non-flexible - if flipped it will break. So measure well before you buy this. I could use wire cutters on the plastic part of my tank but I don't think I need them. I would comment on the "value" of the fans but they are still sitting on a shelf somewhere so I guess they have no value to me at the moment. And to be honest, I'm not sure I want to trim the rims on my tanks to make those cheap fans fit. I'll probably ditch the fans and buy others.
