I'm not a professional mechanic, but I repair boats myself. If you're wondering if this tool is worth the price, I'd say it's definitely worth it! I needed to remove the rudder mounts from a 6 year old boat that was kept on a sea lift and cleaned regularly. I definitely wouldn't have done the job without this tool. My boat is clean but for some reason those clips are stuck in there! The tool leaves marks on the bracket where it clamps, but I don't see any other way out. I filled the grooves with light and made them black. Like new!
