I had two reasons for buying this monitor. My wife often uses a second monitor and uses her HP laptop at home and on the go. I use my ThinkPad to work on side projects in my living room, and programming a second and third monitor can be very handy. Unfortunately I can't use this on my ThinkPad as the magnets make the laptop think the clamshell is closed so the computer goes to sleep. On my wife's HP, on the other hand, it works great, so she's the owner now. Although it DOES NOT have USB-C, we didn't have to install any drivers. Connected, works, no complaints. She's used it a lot in the last week. The good thing is that you can fold it back and use it in mirror mode, or fold it forward to use it as an extended display. The magnets are strong and keep it in place. Everything is so thin that it's easy enough to slide it back into the frame, or take it off and slip it into a laptop bag for use outside the home. Not as cheap as a second monitor for this resolution, but it's one of the few options and it works great. . She gets a lot of use out of it so I think it's a solid buy, but I'd also like to use it on my laptop as it comes with enough extra magnets to support multiple users.
