I bought a new Alienware 17 laptop with an amazing GPU (GTX 1070), CPU etc but it lacks the usual USB ports. It has the 2 types of USB that you usually see, followed by Type C and a Thunderbolt port. I plug my mouse into a USB 3 port and have other things to do. I bought it after reading the reviews and tried it right away. I have attached 2 flash drives, an external hard drive and an Xbox Kinect sensor that I use to scan people. I was able to move files between drives and run the scanner with no problems. Yesterday I tested it in real life by connecting a mouse to one of the ports on this replicator and using the other to launch the 3D printer interface. I had a Kinect sensor working on a port on the other side of the laptop. Driven like this for 6 hours. Everything went well. I ended up having a graphics issue in my 3D printer software (simplify3D) but it's more of a graphics issue as I can run two graphics heavy programs all day. The printer continued to receive instructions and feedback via this USB drive. I'm glad I bought it. Was cheap and works great.
