The feeding instructions for this food are incorrect. It says to feed 1 can + 1.40 ounces per 4kg of weight. There are only 62.3 calories in a can, so the math works out to be 111 calories per day for my 10 lb cat. Ask a vet what a 10 pound cat should be eating and they will tell you at least 200 calories! I bought this food for my very skinny and fussy 14 year old cat who is losing weight. All of her tests came back to normal, so I figured she just needed tastier food with less junk food to irritate her stomach as she ages. I first put her on a different cat-specific veterinary diet to help her gain weight, but she only ate half the portion and I threw away the other half each day. She will actually eat this food but needs 4 cans per day. That's about twice the amount listed on the label, but according to veterinarians, that's the actual daily calorie requirement for a cat her size. I suspect the company lies about how much you need to properly feed your cat. to give the impression that you are getting more for your money. The truth is, even if you think you only need what is on the label, this is a very expensive meal. In the interest of the health and welfare of the cats, I hope they will reconsider this strategy. You'll need to feed almost twice what you need if you want your cat to maintain her current weight.
