This is easy to install and if you put it in the right places it stays in place, doesn't look like it will crack or break easily. We use it in my SUV to store headphones for the entertainment system and cables/plugs for trips out. This keeps my small dog from jumping in the front seat. Now I can put the bird carrier on the armrest and it stays in place. The downside is that it blocks some of the airflow from the rear vents and blocks the heated seat buttons as well as the rear temperature adjustment buttons. And if you find yourself reaching for things in your back a lot, it will slow you down. Edit: I have this in an Acura MDX.
