This is a piece of metal, difficult to stain and HHIPP has done a good job. Fits perfectly on my mini lathe (Grizzly G8688), works great with ER32 collets and has the accuracy you would expect from a collet. A few notes. First, there is no wrench setting on the chuck itself for tightening the collets, and everything really needs to be tightened. Easy to fix, I only drilled out some of the handle hooks but the end user shouldn't have to do that anyway. The second issue, the tension nut that comes with it, is the POS, at least mine. It looks like the locking ring is out of spec, the nut isn't gripping the collet like it should. I had a spare so it's okay but still. Lastly, not everyone will be like this, but my lathe had a lot of wobble on the register that was supposed to center the chuck. The concentricity there translates into concentricity at the end of the collet. I finally fixed it by backing up the diameter of this register by just a couple thousand, just enough to give the chuck a little slack to install, and then using a gauge pin to center the chuck by tapping it and the nuts have tightened. It's not the patron's fault, of course, but there's something to consider.
