Don't know. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. My kids loved this silly thing. I remember my sisters had the original version many years ago. It has plenty of modern upgrades to fire our little tech-hungry minds. The batteries lasted about three months until one day Furby woke up. I replaced the batteries with new ones and put the cap back on. He didn't wake up. I checked twice to make sure I put the batteries in correctly. I have made. Furby still hasn't woken up. Now I have a purple Sleeping Beauty for around $50. If any of the princes would like to stop by and kiss that thing, I'd be delighted. Until then I have a worthless toy that will gather dust until I throw it away. UPDATE: I was corrected by another reviewer. There is a small reset button in the battery compartment. If your Furby doesn't wake up, click on it and it will wake up. my child was happy Thanks to another reviewer!
