Not the way it used to be

Maybe I just prefer the old version. And that's because this version is creepy and rude. My older Furby had some mannerisms issues, but this Furby took it even further. He'll even vomit if you overfeed him. Then, as he goes insane, his eyes flash as he mutters a strange curse that will curse you. So you think it's going to take forever for this guy to finally shut up and go back to sleep.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Updates

Fun. for some time. suitable for baby electronics

I had high hopes for Furby updates. Sure, it's cute and has some great new features. My niece (and parents) love it. I just find the voice a bit more annoying, you could say, and seems harder to put to sleep than the originals. Also, he sometimes becomes "aggressive" for no reason, and it takes a while for him to get back to normal. I would wait for the price to drop (currently $55) before buying for kids.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • Negative gift

Shorts. Only stays active for 10 to 15 seconds.

I understand the item has been in use and most likely has only been tested for pickup. It turns on but shorts out and the only way to reset it is to unscrew the battery compartment cover, pull the battery out, put it back in and screw the cover back on. It's not something a 6-year-old can handle alone, and since Furby only stays active for 10-15 seconds before crashing and acting like it's dead, it's not even worth messing around with. We only paid about $15 for this item so it wasn't worth…

I'm learning Furbish

My granddaughter really wanted a Furby for her birthday. Since they are quite expensive, she and I decided it would be a birthday/Christmas combo and she loved it. Well she loved it. I guess that's the whole furry experience and I caught myself talking to him too. There are sites on the internet that print out complicated words that can be learned while learning English. And you must take care of him or he will get very angry. Her fluff actually fell into a coma. Thank goodness there are…

What a talker Furby!

We have two other Furbies who joined our family a few years ago. We didn't know how they (the old ones) would act when we introduced them to the newcomer. We tried to convince the old hands that the new guy felt at home, but they refused to talk to him and acted like a bunch of idiots for several days. Well we just ignored them and had so much fun without them that we realized they wanted to be in on it. When the grandchildren (twins) came over to meet the new baby and started talking and…

My 1 year old loves it

Don't know. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. My kids loved this silly thing. I remember my sisters had the original version many years ago. It has plenty of modern upgrades to fire our little tech-hungry minds. The batteries lasted about three months until one day Furby woke up. I replaced the batteries with new ones and put the cap back on. He didn't wake up. I checked twice to make sure I put the batteries in correctly. I have made. Furby still hasn't woken up. Now I have a purple Sleeping…

Furby, Furby everywhere.

Each of my kids wanted a Furby for Christmas this year, so I officially have a Furby army of six. While they're good little toys for what they do (drive you crazy and talk all the time), there are a few things that really let me down. PROS: The new version of the Furby knocks the old one out of the water. Lots more sensors and my kids LOVE being able to interact with the iPad/iPhone. mainly feeding and translating CONS: Battery life is FUN. I bought six Furbies, each requiring four batteries…
