DO NOT BELIEVE THE PRINTED SPECS - THEY ARE NOT TRUE

Installing this unit in the car was easy, had no problems, everything worked as stated in the instructions. BUT I am not aware of all the claimed use cases for this device, iPhone, iPad, smartphone and the like. I bought it for ONE REASON - to play high-resolution FLAC or WAV music files. I wanted to hear high definition music in my car (much better than a standard CD - yes I have a CD player in my car). The printed specifications state that this device can play FLAC, WAV (the two most commonly used high definition codecs), as well as WMA and MP3. I couldn't get FLAC, WAV, WMA Lossless to play. I couldn't get Standard WMA 9.2 to play either. The only formats I could play were standard lossy MP3 files (clean junk audio) or the MP3 LAME codec. Yes, MP3 LAME is way better than the standard junk MP3 codec, but it's nowhere near the high-resolution sound of FLAC or WAV. If you have a good music file converter on your PC (like dBPowerAmp - the one I've been using for years and probably the best converter available) you can convert high-resolution FLAC and WAV files to MP3 LAME, which can be played at variable bitrates up to to 320 kbps. The MP3 LAME sounds pretty good, better than a standard CD and probably the best sound I can get in a car. But I am very disappointed in the fact that the specs of this device say it can play FLAC or WAV files. Now this device might play lossy 16-bit FLAC or WAV files (I didn't try either---didn't convert FLAC or WAV files 24/192 to 16/44), but then 16- Bit files can be lossy and defeats the whole purpose of getting high-resolution music. I would not recommend this device to anyone who wants to play high-resolution FLAC or WAV music through it. SUCH ONE STAR because the advertised and printed (manual) specification is WRONG.

Pros
  • Easy to Use - The Bluetooth FM transmitter simply plugs into your car's cigarette lighter socket and pairs with your car stereo or smartphone. Then it can be automatically found and connected to your device next time if the device was connected before.
