I've bought several of these over the years and they aren't as stable as they used to be. They are quite shaky due to a major design flaw. The bottom three posts are attached with large screws that emerge from under the base of the cat's lock, and the heads of these screws are very thick. But the base has no cutouts around the screw holes, so they are flush with the base after screwing them in. In other words, three thick screw heads protrude from under the base, and since three, not four, makes the base very wobbly and unstable. I had to glue the coins to the base at a different angle to make it sturdier, but it's not ideal. Most of the time I spent assembling the cat lock I spent placing different coins in different places to see how I could keep it from rocking. I basically got it fixed, and for a third of the normal price of other comparable cat locks on the market, I'd say it's not such a bad deal. However, keep in mind that if you have a large and strong cat, you will likely need to make similar changes.
