This is a long review, there is a summary at the end. Noise Level 2/5 I bought these fans knowing they didn't have fan speed control. However, I had no idea how loud they would actually be before I got them. These fans can also be heard well with headphones. With the computer off I measured the ambient noise level at 30dB, with the computer on I measured an average of 46dB while my computer was not working. I measured the distance from where I was seated to the computer itself (about 3 feet from the computer with the case closed). They're not as loud as server fans or even most graphics cards running at full fan speed, but they're definitely noticeable. Since the fan speed cannot be changed, you will hear the same noise with these fans both at idle and at full load. Performance 4/5. Adding all 5 of these fans to my case brought the total number of fans to 7. I only had 2 Noctua NF-F12 120mm PWM fans (really good fans) in the case before adding them. After installing and testing these fans, my temperature dropped 2-8 degrees Celsius depending on what I was doing. My case doesn't have the biggest airflow openings/vents, so this massive improvement is pretty good. If you had a computer with more vents, you'd probably see an even greater benefit. More expensive fans will give you better performance than these, but as regular fans they do their job well. Lighting 2/5 These fans have RGB lighting that can be changed to many different colors. However, they aren't very good when it comes to RGB lighting control. They cannot be controlled via software, instead you can get a small RF remote control that allows you to change lighting modes, color, brightness, and the speed at which the light rotates. The small remote control is cheap and the colors on it often don't match what you actually see. Even at max brightness the light doesn't get that bright. Price 4/5 At the time of purchase they cost me $35.58 with tax which is about $7.12 per fan. At $7 per fan, it would be difficult to find a cheaper RGB fan. Most popular brands like Cooler Master, Antec, Corsair and more sell RGB fans at Revain from $20 per fan. Considering that they cost less than half of popular RGB fans, that makes them a good RGB fan. If they cost $10 per fan instead of $7 per fan, I would definitely consider buying a more expensive one from a well-known brand. They definitely aren't worth half a good fan, but less than half with a good margin are worth them. Installation 3/5 When it comes to installing fans, they are installed just like any other computer fan except how you connect them to your computer. The fans contain a fan hub that connects to the power supply via the SATA power connector from the power supply. The HUB has 10 ports that ONLY these fans can be connected to. They don't use the typical 3-4 pin fan connector, they use a proprietary connector. You can't connect them to the motherboard, and you can't connect other standard fans to a hub. There's no option to install a hub either, you can tape it to the inside of the case with double-sided tape, or just let it hang freely. I wish they included at least double sided tape but there isn't. The cable on the fans is very long and easily reaches the hub with a normal-sized mid-tower. Build quality 3/5 The build quality of these fans seems to be satisfactory. They are far from perfect and they have some problems. Actually, the fan is made of cheap plastic, but what do you expect from a cheap fan. When you screw the fans in, the screw will keep turning even if you screw it all the way in since plastic is so soft and cheap. This is not a problem, but shows the quality. When I connected my fans to the hub, I felt like I could easily rip the wires out of the part that connects to the hub. If I had been a little rougher with the wiring I would have ripped out the wiring for sure. I give this a 3/5 as the fans appear to be fine once installed with no defects. Summary 18/30 For the money they do a pretty good job at the expense of noise and some nice features. If you're looking for cheap RGB fans for budget to mid-range desktops, these are fine if you don't mind noise. The fans work well as case fans and keep temperatures really low compared to none at all. RGB looks good but is poorly implemented. The lighting isn't as bright compared to a high-end RGB fan, there's no software control, a cheap wireless remote, and not as many color options as I'd like. The fans are noisy and are powered by a hub connected to the SATA power cable so their speed doesn't change, they're always the same speed no matter what you're doing. They install like any other fan except they only have their own header that only works with a hub, you can't connect them to the motherboard fan headers. The build quality of the fans is satisfactory, but the build quality of the remote control, hub and cables leaves a lot to be desired. The cables are quite long and should reach almost all the way into the case. Considering they cost around $7 per fan, this is a good choice for a cheap RGB fan. If you really need RGB fans and can handle constant noise and lower RGB quality, I would recommend these.
