Before you put it just stick them somewhere, it is best to carefully clean the area where you plan to place them. We didn't do that on the first strip and after about a week it started peeling off in places. We had to tape them back. However, we thoroughly cleaned and dried the next area and they were installed an hour after the first. We've had them for almost 2 weeks now and both are still running. Even the ones we didn't stick but peeled off the wall are still hanging and showing no signs of falling off. Even the construction glue we used on others didn't affect the light one bit. What I like is that I can be in another room and the remote still works since I'm still aiming in that direction. I love the extra light it gives and it's great when people come to visit. They were really easy to set up and use. Also very bright!
