I'm a bit addicted to thermometers and have bought almost every digital thermometer available over the years. My gold standard is a Bluetooth-enabled smart thermometer under the tongue, but it requires cleaning with alcohol and finding the right "warmth pocket" in the mouth, which is great but a little cumbersome. I've also used an old non-contact thermometer (one of the largest pistol-shaped models you see) during these trying times for a quick check during these trying times, but it has never been "accurate" and I only use it to give an idea to get. whether I should pull out my other thermometer or not. Enter the SUNCOO digital infrared thermometer (which was given to me). I was skeptical but was immediately impressed with the physical design of the product. Smooth lines, it feels good in the hand, and the buttons and finishes are of consummate quality. I was also surprised that the sensor cap (which you remove for in-ear reading) is connected by a magnet! Very similar to Apple and satisfactory (and likely to continue to work compared to a friction fit or a clip fit). And all this is good, but if the accuracy is bad, then the device has no value. So imagine my surprise when I found that this thermometer didn't exceed 0.2°F of my bluetooth smart thermometer on repeated readings! I've tried it in multiple configurations, including in-ear (which I've known to have issues with), and have had reliable, accurate, and reproducible results. card I'm promoting) but for fast and reliable non-contact temperature readings this is my new pick.
