The bottom was a bit sandy and full of sharp gravel where this hose was placed. At one point I actually accidentally stepped on it while trying to put another hose in the Y-piece. Crush and gravel did not break or puncture the hose. Both hoses work perfectly, although I've read that even with a UV finish, the plastic of the hose wears out with prolonged exposure to the sun. I recommend if you plan to store this outdoors you cover it with a small tarp or something that will minimize sun exposure.
