Review on Gorilla Gripper 44010 Panel Carrier by Chris Horton

More expensive than a panel carry handle but much better

I had to unload 25 sheets of Type X drywall from a truck to my house myself. These blades weigh about 75 pounds per blade, so I asked Lowe if there was a tool that would make it easier for me to carry these blades. They introduced me to a panel carry handle for $7. However, I found it too difficult to position the underside of the backing plate below the center of the blade. Also, finding the right balance to wear was inconvenient. Decided to rip off the panel and look for another solution. Further research led me to the expensive Gorilla Gripper Grip. I took a chance and bought it from Revain. It has definitely paid off several times. So far I've been using my Gorilla Gripper to grip 4x8 OSB board, 75 lb. x 4x8 5/8" drywall and 85 lb. 4x8 5/8" drywall to transport. Quiet Rock 525 records. What I like about it is that you just place it in the middle of the top of the sheet and lift it up. With a plate carry handle, if it's not centered under the sheet, you'll have to move it, which can be quite painful since you have the sheet sitting on it. If you find the Gorilla Grip has lost its balance because you didn't place it squarely in the center of the blade, simply move it an inch or two and try to pick it up again. Some have also talked about how Gorilla Grip can damage drywall. I'm sure it does, but probably only for regular drywall, which I think only weighs about 40 pounds for a 4x8 5/8 inch sheet. Turns are too sharp or abrupt Instead, turn slowly and gently to reduce the risk of injury.
