Schwalbe Pro One vs. Grand Prix 5000 TL

First impression; Installation was much easier on my ENVE 3.4 tubeless carbon bikes. I really had to use the levers on the 5000 TL, but they were very easy to use. I use an air compressor to lift the tire onto the rim beads. The Pro One had so much pressure on the tire arms I thought I might break the arms or carbon rims if the tire was on the rim. Both the old Pro One tire and the Cont. 5000 TL are 28mm tires. The 5000 TL is significantly smaller than the Pro One, both in terms of width and height. I actually have a Pro One 25mm on the front wheel and it's bigger than the Cont. 5000 Turkish Lira on the back. This makes the Pro One larger and significantly lighter than the Cont. 5000 Turkish Lira. I wonder if this affects ride comfort and rolling resistance as the Cont has less tire volume than the Pro One for the same tire size. I've put about 6,000 miles on the Pro One (it was my second pair of Pro Ones) and have no complaints other than that they're a bit difficult to install. I just installed Cont. 5000 Turkish Lira on the back and not driven yet. I'll be back in a few hundred miles and let you know how they drive and stay on the road.

Pros
  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Easy maintainability
