I installed this system on my Grand Design Imagine caravan. To replace the Furrion system I installed. I didn't like the Furrion system because of the small screen and poor picture quality. The Furrion system was overpriced. Like all Furrion products. But this review is not about Furrion products. As for Veclesus products. I like the picture quality and screen size of the Veclesus system. The system works very well as a backup camera right out of the box. The distance from the back of my trailer to the monitor in my truck's cab is 42 feet. As for using the system for movement on the highway. Upon receipt and installation of the system, the following was noted. When using the original short antennas, there were significant delays and frame loss times on the screen even at moderate speeds, towing. My tractor has tinted windows which may or may not affect reception. My truck also has a truck cover. In addition, a camera at the rear of the trailer, mounted in a location prepared by the trailer manufacturer (under the top of the trailer), places the camera antenna fully behind the trailer. The Furrion system I replaced performed similarly on the Autobahn. Veclesus includes a wired antenna extender to relocate the monitor or camera antenna. The base includes double-sided tape and is also magnetic. I don't want to permanently attach the antenna base to my tractor and my tractor has an aluminum body so the magnet doesn't work. I decided to buy longer antennas for the camera and monitor to see if it would improve reception from a moving car. If you go this route, be sure to buy the right antenna. They are available with or without a center pin connector. Installing one of the longer antennas on the camera resulted in the tip of the antenna being 8 inches above the top of the trailer. The truck also has 3 roof vents and air conditioning, as well as a camera antenna and a monitor. But at least he's not trying to send a signal through the 4 walls of the trailer. I installed another long antenna on the monitor in the truck. These antennas are now 14 inches long. So you need to keep that in mind if you decide to go this route. For the longer, camera-mounted antenna, I installed a bracket above the camera, around the antenna, and attached it to the trailer for extra support. If I hadn't he wouldn't have stayed where he was. The problem isn't the camera, it's simply the use of a longer antenna and wind flow. As for the results with longer antennas. While the monitor antenna is still attached to the monitor in the cab of my truck. Longer antennas eliminated dropouts. Even at 70 km/h on the Autobahn. At motorway speeds there was still a small delay between the camera and the monitor at times. Driving at slower speeds on dual carriageways, I didn't notice any noticeable lag. Since circumstances have prevented me from making more than one trip this year, I will not experiment further at this point. I'd like to experiment with the included wire antenna base extension. I find that placing just one antenna in the best line of sight position will definitely improve reception. I may have placed the monitor antenna on the outside of the car. I would like to give 5 stars plus for the technical support I received from Veclesus regarding some of the issues I had and how I was able to resolve them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the product. Just my curiosity. Vekles exceeded everything I expected. I would get an answer within a day. Much better support than what I've received from US companies this year. in summary. In MY personal situation and experience. Out of the box I found this system to be a very good backup camera system. When I'm not using my trailer I store it at my store and have to store it 55 feet away. Among everything I could have in my shop at the time. With the replacement of longer antennas, I found the system acceptable for my highway cruising needs. I've traveled a few million miles in my life. So I'm very used to using my mirrors. But with this addition, it helps me see the backs behind my trailer. Also watch out for oncoming traffic behind me. I would add that my experience with this system is on highways and dual carriageways in rural areas. I have no idea how this can work in a more densely populated area. I would also like to say that I have a Veclesus wired three camera system installed on my tractor which I use to maintain my property. I can't say enough good things about this system. So useful for my use. I have a Revain review for this system.
