After buying this one, I bought a cookbook for $0.99. We started by testing the water. Excellent. We then had 3+ pounds with roast, potatoes and carrots, following the general instructions from the cookbook. I should add that we reduce our salt, but this roast, potato and carrot was so flavorful we didn't miss the salt. The roast was cooked to perfection, falling apart when we tried to cut it, and the potatoes and carrots tasted like roast beef and were cooked to perfection. pot or on the stove for several hours. Carrots, pasta, broth and chicken have regained their flavor. Finally my son and I cooked Alfredo's Chicken tonight, it's just amazing! I found this recipe on Pintrest. :) We are all very satisfied with this pressure cooker too. The first week of using this thing makes me think I better be careful or I might get fat :). I have to say I'm new to pressure cooking of any kind but there are many articles and videos that can help.
