This surge protection tower from Superdanny overheated and burned my USB cable and Oontz speaker (also purchased from Revain). It was very hot and smoking. It's good that this didn't happen at night when a serious fire could have broken out! The damage seems to have come from the USB charging ports because my PC was plugged in at the same time and that was fine (luckily!). In my house there was no other surge at the same time. A week ago another USB charging cable overheated too, but in this case I thought it was a defective cable and threw it away. Now I see it was overheating coming from the Superdenny Tower. This device is assumed to have surge protection, but if it does, then it definitely won't work in my case. I've been using it for 9 months and the return window is closed on Revain so I'll just have to throw it away and buy another and better brand. I understand that nothing lasts forever, but I expected it to last at least a year; Also, the defect appears to be only on the USB side and not the AC side of my station.
