I'm towing a 4300 lb boat and trailer in my 2003 Ford Explorer. I wanted to check the engine oil temperature before the oil passed the DeRale engine oil cooler. (also bought from Revain) I installed the sensor on a tee just in front of the radiator. (I have 1/2" nipples and brass tees from Home Depot). If you do the same, be sure to mount the sensor face down so there aren't any bubbles around the sensor, which could lead to false readings. Some people wrote that he had a bright personality. Yes, it's bright, but mounting it next to the Max Tow gear temp gauge on the front of the console isn't bright enough to distract me. If it was set high I can see why it's distracting BTW, get lots of compliments on these gauges My pre-cooled oil temp was 206 degrees on a 95 degree day Great guides!
