Bought for my 12 year old, very obedient 50 lb dog who uses the leash a maximum of an hour a day. The cable broke today after 13 months in all year round weather conditions. Luckily, my neighbor saw our dog four doors down in her yard and brought him home. If the packaging says that the product should be replaced in a year, they are not joking. After a month or two, rust appeared on the steel cable under the plastic coating and it only gets worse from there. If someone has an aggressive dog, I'm assuming you've lent time in 6 months. In the past, some of these connections were made with stainless steel cable. If I can't buy a replacement stainless steel cable, I'd rather make my own than lose my dog.
