I can't call it a stool because it's the same height as my dining table chairs. The assembly was not easy for me. I found it terribly difficult to fit the back to the holes. just use without. I finally succeeded with great effort and several stride periods. to tighten them enough for use. In general the chair is beautiful. Not at all what I thought. I should have read the description better I think. It's just a pretty metal chair that doesn't go with my vanity as a stool. I would not buy again!
