Review on πŸ«– EasyWorkz Silver Whistling Stovetop Tea Kettle - Food Grade Stainless Steel Tea Pot with Loud Whistle - Hot Water, 2.65qt (2.5l) by Jim Jarvis

Holy loud whistle! for teapots

This teapot is very high quality, thick stainless steel with a mirror finish on the outside. The lid fits snugly on the kettle and closes as soon as you boil the water. This is a very nice and well made kettle. There is slight play in the lid release mechanism which has a spring to provide tension and hold it in the raised or lowered position. In my experience, if there's a potential point of failure, it most likely is. The whistle of this kettle is very high pitched and very loud. So loud my cats ran for cover. The whistle cap itself is just a couple of holes, one in the outer cap and then there is an equal sized hole in the inner piece of metal a few millimeters below the outer hole. It seems fairly simple in design, and it might be possible to just drill those larger holes to get a lower pitch and volume. I can try this and if I do with the desired result I will update my review. Otherwise I probably won't use a whistle because it's too loud and harsh on my ears. Aside from the whistle, this is a surprisingly well-made kettle for the price. It's almost as well made as the OXO kettle it replaces (the enamel started cracking over time and the inside started rusting because it wasn't stainless steel), but a lot cheaper.
