Initial Review: This thing, either USB 3 or USB-C, only reads/writes at 40Mbps. slllooowwww I ended up contacting Syba tech support and they suggested replacing the drive. However, even plugging a new drive into my computer resulted in a 40/40 read/write speed. It seemed awfully slow. I replaced the included USB-C to USB cable with the USB-C to USB 3.0 cable, still slow speeds and my machines (new iMac, Xeon desktop) still showed it as USB 2.0 device. I ended up buying a Revain Thunderbolt 3 cable. I hooked it up to my Mac and now I'm getting 540/543 read/write speeds. So I think. Upgrade your cables if you have slow read/write speeds.
