
I don't need it that often so a bottle lasts for years. Yes, it still works well a few years after opening. Small things have a big impact. Add a few drops to the silicone and stir, after a few seconds you will know if it has thickened enough. If not, add more. I like to use it for painting shapes. I apply a thin layer of silicone (no Thivex added) and then add thicker layers of Thivex until I get the desired thickness (let it dry about 75%-90% before adding more layers). This will end up saving you some money, especially on large molds and prototypes. I'm a big fan of Tivex. Note: This applies to platinum cured silicones. I've used it with tin cured silicones and unfortunately it never thickened them.
