I hope this helps anyone who has the same 1994 thru 2003 Sportster as me and is having doubts about purchasing these shocks. difference between day and night. IMHO, it's worth the money. My bike is a 2002 XLH Hugger 883, it was bought used and had 10.5" shocks of an unknown brand which are not stock shocks. The stock shocks are 11.75". Truck on a dirt road that hasn't been repaired in years. horrible , and I thought it was normal. Then my wife and I started traveling together and that only made the problem worse. I've never had anyone else in the same situation. I was afraid the shocks would be too long for the bike would be. No problems like never before. I can even use a standard tripod without any problems. The ride with my wife is 1000 times better and the preload of both shock absorbers is set up a notch, now it feels like riding an old 79 -"Cadillac Brougham drive. I cannot recommend these dampers highly enough for the Sportster. 20 years. But as with most things in life, your results may vary.
