Do not order one size up
I originally ordered a size up based on reviews and recommendations. big mistake. The waist was so big and gaping. If I pull down, the crotch and buttocks will be so low. When I pulled him up, he would push his stomach or side out. Poorly! I reordered a small size. I might even have gotten an extra small one. I have a big butt but a thin waist. I have trouble finding things that fit my waist because I don't want my butt hanging out. They fit well, hitting the right spots on the tummy and waist, and long enough to prevent chafing. The only negative, I wish they had pockets. Overall a good product but remember to order your normal size!
