I've been buying these for years because I need high fiber, low sugar bars. First I liked the taste many years ago, then about a year or more ago in the 2017/18 season they changed the formula and that also changed the taste. They weren't great anymore, just good. Of course these bars have always been dense, which I like, but lately they're sometimes like rocks and other times just hard. I can tell you with certainty that the bars are not stored in a place that most people would consider a good environment to eat in, so this may contribute to any of the staleness or toughness issues raised. I'll buy some of these again from the store and see if there's a big difference. I just received my last order in May 2018 and they have changed again. The packaging has changed and the bars are now very smooth like some other flavors. I need to check the ingredients on the old bar and see if anything obvious has changed. I used to love these bars, they're the only protein bars I'll eat as they don't contain hydrogenated fats, but they seem to be going away soon. down the slope. It is so strange to me that a company that has such an amazing product that is very popular would radically change their recipe. I think profit is more important than quality for some, but without quality there will soon be no profit. I would normally recommend them highly but now it seems like crap so keep that in mind when you order. Update: October 2018 Well I can't stand this taste anymore, used to be my favorite flavor but it's no longer a chore to swallow these bars, the recipe switch was a total failure. I used to automatically order 5 boxes a month, but no more. I've experimented with other quest bar options and many of them are better and I can switch to a different option. Too bad they had to ruin a good thing, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Update: January 2020 Well I think I'm done with these bars. I survived on Supreme peanut butter but they stopped making it, the quality level and taste are down 90 percent from before (pre 2017). I literally spent thousands of dollars on these bars but now I'm done. I will look for another company to give my money away. Luckily, there are plenty of high-fiber, low-sugar bars out there now, so I think I'll start shopping. Don't buy these if you don't have a time machine and can get them from the days when they were great. So sad.
