Review on External sound card BEHRINGER U-PHORIA UMC22 by Kero Montes ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but it was a pleasant surprise.

I just got it yesterday, and I've been sitting here trying it out all evening. When I first tried it, the audio card that was already installed in my laptop did not sound any different, and I couldn't understand why. After that, I gave it some thought, and I realized that, although there is a distinction, it is so subtle that it is hardly detectable in alternative rock. The bass on this card is somewhat muted, and for some people it may be too muted. Because of this, the sound card is still considered to be low-end, and when I listen to certain types of music with headphones like the ATH M-50x, the card's performance is nearly inaudible. Yet, recording with the microphone is significantly superior to recording through the built-in. The guitar and voice both have a (relatively) clean tone, which is great news for anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money to get a good sound. Obviously not the ideal choice for those who are passionate about audio.

Pros
  • - Very good value for the money spent - Simplicity of use - Pleasurable LEDs that are neither extremely bright nor very dim
Cons
  • - There is no driver interface whatsoever
