I'm not sure why some reviewers underestimate absorbency and thickness; maybe they used to be avid buyers of muscular ones. If we used to buy Brawny, Bounty, etc., we're now looking for more natural products in our home. These seventh generation towels were great. I prefer these semi-perforated towels as they last longer. No, they won't soak up a whole glass of spilled milk, but a rag is better for that, you can wring it out anyway. :) They do a good job cleaning my kitchen sink, wiping kids noses, tidying up kids stuff, cleaning my bathroom, cleaning mirrors and drying lettuce. No complaints here!
