The original instructions didn't work for me and I almost gave up. I had a keloid on either side of a cartilage piercing. It wasn't possible to soak my ear and I managed to overcome the difficulties of the saturated cotton swab method, but it didn't work. I have previously read about people using tea tree oil to treat keloid scars and tried it before using this product but the results were terrible. So I decided to mix tea tree oil with sea salt. Since my keloids were so small, I used a pinch of sea salt, a drop of 100% pure tea tree oil, and a drop of hot water (see photo). Mixing gently, I scoop out the wet sea salt and cover the keloids with it. The keloid on the inside of my ear was completely gone in a few weeks! The one on the other side was deeper, so it takes a little longer, but it's less than half the size it started with. I do this twice a day, morning and night, and just leave it until it dries (usually about 20-30 minutes/it turns white) and then wipe it off.
