The mirror assembly arrived with a cracked outer shell and a missing piece (just under a penny) on the outer rim. There were no loose plastic parts during packaging and assembly. So it must be damaged before packing and shipping. Otherwise it fits well and the original paint cap fits right here. The lid that comes with the kit is a one piece unassembled part (I think you painted it). So just take off the old one (if it's in good condition) and put it on the new mirror. You can also purchase door panel retaining clips to replace those that broke after removing the interior panel to access the mirror. mounting screws. I think it's GM P/N 11610606. So it's not bad for about 1/3 the cost of an OEM part, but if you want it to be perfect, go elsewhere.
