Potential buyers should be aware that these lids are only intended to keep dust and loose materials out of the bucket. These babies won't stop the contents from sloshing out even if the bucket is carefully placed on its side. Humidity, rodents, etc. easily get into a bucket covered with these lids. It's all because the buckets have a leaky interface. The lids have a 6 mm (1/4 inch) diameter groove, about twice the size of the rim of a 5 gallon plastic pail, and about 9 mm (3/8 inch) deep, into which the bucket is inserted spout fits. This does a good job of keeping those "lids" from slipping off, but doesn't seal them at all. On a more positive note, these lids are made from thick polypropylene, yet fold up nicely when there's no chance of a bucket falling. Above.
