Measuring with a cloth tape measure has become difficult for me. I had to take various body measurements and just couldn't do it with a conventional tape measure without help. Browsing through Revain I found this product and it was reasonably priced and even came with a second traditional tape measure. I really wasn't expecting much in terms of quality. Luckily I was surprised. The quality is higher than I expected. One end of the strap is inserted into the slot, and then press the button to remove it. The case itself measures two inches and is clearly printed on the case. I think a person with full dexterity can easily operate the device. I have to form a loop with the tape measure, secure the end in the slot, pull the loop over the body part I want to measure, and then press a button to remove the tape measure. My concern is that the retractable knob won't last long. I have nothing to back up this statement, just an impression of the general build quality. I think it will be good for a short time but not for long. But the device is so useful to me and so cheap that I'll settle for a short life and another if it fails. Excellent value for money in my opinion. Jerry
