Review on πŸ“Ί Portable Raspberry Monitor with High Resolution 1280Γ—800 and HDMI Connectivity by Ian Fields

7 " IPS monitor with 1024 x 600 resolution for your Raspberry Pi

Product Overview: Raspberry Pi Touch Screen - SunFounder 7 Inch Capacitive Screen IPS Monitor LCD Display Support HDMI USB-C for Raspberry Pi 4B 3B+ 2 Model B Windows with Bracket. In a word: fantastic. This 7 inch IPS monitor is bright and sharp. I'm mainly using it to build RetroPie with the goal of eventually packing it into a small portable mini cabinet. I haven't set up the touchscreen display yet. The screen is glossy, as expected given its touchscreen capability, which is something to note, and has issues with glare and reflections. Turns on and off automatically depending on the HDMI signal. Although the display comes with an AC adapter, the display is powered via the USB data connection (for touchscreen functionality), eliminating the need for additional external power via the included AC adapter, a nice touch. Native resolution may not be selected automatically and there is a user guide that describes how to modify the config.txt file to enable native resolution over HDMI. Overall very satisfied and highly recommended!

  • i hold my fists
Cons
  • Distorted image: If your monitor is set to a resolution other than the display's native resolution, the image may appear distorted.
