I looked at and read a lot of reviews on different products. I have a bichon. I measured as suggested. I have ordered a medium. It is 20 to 21 inches in circumference and 17 inches in length. This coat fits him perfectly. I was afraid it wouldn't be long enough, but it is. It is very easy to put on. I pull the collar over his head and use the velcro straps on the sides. Fur lining from the collar to the end of the coat. I have a blue-gray, good. It's well made and looks solid. But he's not a "wild" dog. He loves it and I love it.
