Review on Tan And Black Cassida C500 Portable Coin Counting And Sorting Machine For Efficient Coin Management by Chad Delgado

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are reasons it's less expensive.

I have 2 VERY used De La Rue coin sorter/counters of the same basic design and I believe De La Rue makes this machine for Cassida as well. Only it's apparent they make it to a price point as opposed to a quality point. This machine's belts and mechanicals are lower quality than the De La Rue's, the software is "dumbed" down and only auto reverses one time when a jam occurs (which happens very frequently) and never stops on it's own when jammed! The real item reverses very quickly and repeats 3 times in an effort to clear the issue and then it stops for you to clear the problem. A bit of a disappointment, but then again, I should know there would be reasons that it's half the cost of the branded product.12/31 - I raised it to 3 stars from 2. there's economy cars and luxury cars so why not this product as well. As it's "breaking in" and I become accustomed to it's quirks we are working better together, though I'd still likely search for a good used "De La Rue" for the same price in the future.

Pros
  • I like the fact that it is much faster than the one I had. It is a pleasure to use.
Cons
  • The machine requires electricity to operate, making it less convenient to use in remote or outdoor settings
