Review on πŸ” Dorman 911-080 Vent Solenoid for Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC Models - Vapor Canister by Sam Lund

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My error code has been fixed. I think it's the valve.

Error code fixed. I think this valve should vent air from the tank when the truck is off and close to allow a vacuum to be created while driving. If that fails, it's the same thing as a gas cap, as far as the exhaust system knows. It was difficult to install on my 1999 Sierra. It was on the truck bed bracket, above the frame, next to the fuel tank on the driver's side. I could only take it with one hand. I pulled back on the metal tab to slide it forward and get out. The electrical connection is on the back. Pull the tab up to remove. The hose is difficult to remove. I pulled out the hose clamps and pulled it halfway between the bed and the cab so I could reach it with my hands. Hose connected and removed in reverse order. It was difficult, but I saved hundreds of dollars. Don't worry about the light resetting. If that was the problem and you connected it correctly, the light will go out after a short ride. (pulls vacuum)
