Great for kids, best for colouring, coloring and art supplies

I bought these gel pens for a toddler after purchasing them. Dad threw away the gel pens because they were too good for things like carpets. I saw a post that said pastel shades are *best* for young children. They paint more easily, so kids don't learn to erase the page while painting, and they give kids more control over their artistic expression. I'm absolutely sure that's true. Art pens have a plastic case that makes them easy to hold. She can mix colors by painting over other colors, although they don't mix easily! But when she paints over a darker element in her drawing, it stays there too. They put a lot of color on the page quickly and aren't hard so you feel like you have to rub to create a drawing. In fact, I was able to use it gently to create a softer colored pencil look. The only thing is that the colored pencils are thick and rounded at the ends, so it will be very difficult to use them in a coloring book. But I suppose it would be easy enough to sharpen the tip, although you might lose some expensive material. However, I don't think I'll ever go back to colored pencils. These are the best! It was very worth the investment as it pulled all the chalk out of the case and it didn't break. I only buy it because of the lack of broken crayons!
