I wanted a small swing fan that would attach to the poles of a small garden tent and thought this would be perfect. When I opened the box and plugged it in, it worked great. However, when I mounted it on a vertical pole inside the tent, it stopped swinging after a few minutes. However, it worked if I put it on a flat surface, so I put it on the bottom of the tent. After a few days he had more problems; When the fan wobbled, there was a spot where the fan stopped spinning and the motor stuttered a bit for the wobble. I cleaned everything as best I could and the oscillating motor actually ran smoother. Then the fan stopped spinning completely. Now I have a fan that vibrates well but doesn't blow air. This fan looked like it would be perfect for what I wanted. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Total life of the fan: about 2 weeks.
