Best option for iPad on lap

I got this back when I was a student pilot and school allowed (not even temporarily) an iPad on a plane. Having an iPad and a paper notebook on my lap while flying was the best option I found. I like the paper notepad for copying the ATIS and taxi directions - I'm too sloppy trying to use the stylus on the iPad. I liked getting taxi tickets or ticket attachment data from my iPad, but trying to read an iPad on the leg isn't ideal. Now that I have a private pilot license I use a yoke or suction cup mount for my iPad and only use a knee brace for my paper pad. The dual pen holders on this knee pad are a VERY good option. I've dropped a pen more than once and just picked up a second one instead of looking. Another wish for this knee pad is that it has a buckle for an elastic. For now you have to pull it around your leg and attach Velcro to the two halves each time you put it on. If it had a buckle you would adjust it once and that's it!

Pros
  • Anti-slip pads for stability
Cons
  • Gotcha
