If your problem is that over time it has become increasingly difficult to start the engine in such a way that you ONLY need to pull the key in the right place, then this is exactly what you need. I was able to replace the housing in my 2008 Ford Focus SE without removing the steering wheel. I simply removed all the trim around the handlebars (upper, lower and lower leg guards), unscrewed the ignition switch housing from the turn signal and finally removed the ignition switch assembly from the steering column. This last step is a bit tricky as you have to remove a screw that doesn't have a head or slot. This bolt is designed to break to deter theft. To remove the bolt I took a dremel with a round blade and sawed a slot through the top of the stripped bolt. I just put a screwdriver in the slot and was able to unscrew the screw. Finding a replacement shear bolt or shear bolt wasn't difficult. I was able to pick it up at my local Ford dealership with no delivery required. You will need to replace the shear bolt as you will no longer be able to tighten the old bolt. All in all, it was a relatively easy fix. I was offered $300, $400, and even $800 for solving my problem. So it was definitely worth buying the $150 part, watching YouTube videos and spending about an hour in my car. Recommend.
