You can do this. in ignition locks

This fixed a starting problem in a 2010 Ford Focus. You will need a 5.5mm socket, a small ratchet, a screwdriver and a Dremel cutting wheel. You can use a dremel or hacksaw blade to cut a slot in the screw to remove it and use the same screw for installation with just a flat blade screwdriver. Once you've removed the outer plastic shell, you don't need to unscrew any torx screws you see, just three 5.5mm screws [see photo]. Drawings]. The lower one is shown with a mirror. Lots of patience and…

  • Great for outdoor activities

OEM Perfect Ignition also fits Mazda Tribute

Firstly this is a genuine Ford part so the fit and function are perfect. You won't find a better price for this item. This will fix the non-start condition due to a worn ignition on many Ford models. That being said I installed this on my 2008 Mazda Tribute as they are identical to the Ford Escape. And just to show that they are identical, I took some photos of the original Mazda ignition with FoMoCo (Ford Motor Company) stamped on the underside. This part is identical to the standard ignition.

2008 Ford Escape now starts easily

I spent time trying to find a middle ground to start my 2008 Escape until it finally failed, luckily it was in the driveway. I knew the ignition module needed to be changed but I was afraid to take on this project but dealers get a lot for this repair. After watching the tutorial video (FordTechMakuloco) I was confident that I would do it myself. Well why did I suffer for 2 years trying to start the car when it was that easy. The replacement took about 45-50 minutes and I didn't have to remove…

Exactly what you need

If your problem is that over time it has become increasingly difficult to start the engine in such a way that you ONLY need to pull the key in the right place, then this is exactly what you need. I was able to replace the housing in my 2008 Ford Focus SE without removing the steering wheel. I simply removed all the trim around the handlebars (upper, lower and lower leg guards), unscrewed the ignition switch housing from the turn signal and finally removed the ignition switch assembly from the…

Replaced without removing the steering wheel

Fits perfectly on my 2008 Mercury Mariner base despite what Revane says. I was hoping I could remove and replace the old case without removing the steering wheel because I didn't want to go through all the extra steps. I'm happy to report that I succeeded. It's not that heavy, it's just difficult to realign after taking it off. You will need: Flat head screwdriver or similar to remove the trim around the steering column. Also used to remove a solder stud. Used to remove existing lock cylinders.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Negative

for 2008 Ford Escape (Hybrid)

Fits and works perfectly in my 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid. I was able to remove and replace it without removing the steering wheel etc. Removed the 3 5.5mm screws securing the covers around the steering column. Using a plastic tool, carefully remove the covers to separate the latches between the top and bottom. I carefully removed the sensor from around the ignition cylinder and left it hanging on the left side of the steering column. Disconnect all wiring connectors from the housing and turn…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Good but not great
