Fits and works perfectly in my 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid. I was able to remove and replace it without removing the steering wheel etc. Removed the 3 5.5mm screws securing the covers around the steering column. Using a plastic tool, carefully remove the covers to separate the latches between the top and bottom. I carefully removed the sensor from around the ignition cylinder and left it hanging on the left side of the steering column. Disconnect all wiring connectors from the housing and turn signal assembly. Pull out the plastic strain relief pins to allow the wiring to hang from the left side. Rotate the steering wheel to access and remove the 3x5.5mm screws that secure the turn signal assembly to the ignition housing. Cover the dash with a towel and use a dremel to cut a groove in the shearbolt. Loosen the shear bolt with a screwdriver. He pulled the old housing out from under the turn signal and removed it. Countersunk washer with 1/4" center diameter and 1" outside diameter. I think it was a gasket between the top and bottom of the old case held in place by a screw. I inserted the new housing into the groove under the steering column under the indicators and steering wheel lock. I hand screwed in a new removal bolt to keep everything in place. (I tried installing the washer but the body wouldn't clamp so I dropped the washer. This left a small gap to ensure the body clamped firmly to the steering column.) Tightened the shearbolt until the head broke . 3 x 5.5mm screws to attach turn signal assembly to ignition housing. All plugs connected, strain relief etc. Checked that everything works. And so beautiful. The bottom and top covers and their 3x 5.5mm screws have been replaced. If you don't want to make this swap, you can attach a snap switch to connect pins #1 and #7 (two ends) to the ignition switch connector. Turn the key to run, press the key to run. Or, to start the car just to get it from where it is to where you'll be working with it, temporarily hop off a short piece of wire from No. wires (don't unplug the switch).
