I spent time trying to find a middle ground to start my 2008 Escape until it finally failed, luckily it was in the driveway. I knew the ignition module needed to be changed but I was afraid to take on this project but dealers get a lot for this repair. After watching the tutorial video (FordTechMakuloco) I was confident that I would do it myself. Well why did I suffer for 2 years trying to start the car when it was that easy. The replacement took about 45-50 minutes and I didn't have to remove the steering wheel. The hardest part was making a cut in the mounting screw to unscrew it with a flat head screwdriver. The 5mm bolts can be removed with a short ratchet without dismantling the handlebars. I can't believe how easy the car starts now. Don't worry anymore, watch the video and do it yourself!
