This Zecto Alert 80 light has a good design and makes a great bike rear light. Sure, it's bright enough to alert motorists to your presence, and flashing it when you slow down is very effective. The included saddlebag allowed me to mount my SuperSix, which has very little room for lights. That's the main reason I chose it and not the longer version. My only criticism and reason for removing the star is the work of the light. The documentation contained and published on the Lezyne website is grossly inadequate. Even after some people have posted videos about switching between modes, it's almost impossible to tell which mode you're actually in. The indicators on the side only show battery power, so you'll have to look at the bright retinal light and basically guess. Also, switching modes means you have to stop to do it safely.
