A low-sodium diet almost requires bringing your own condiments and salad dressing to a restaurant. This is a good size for 2-3 tablespoons of salad dressing. I sent them to lunch with my husband in two plastic bags in a very small bag and he did not receive any salad, dressing or ketchup and sent them back home. The salad dressing was vinegar and oil and leaked a bit, although the lid was as tight as possible the ketchup didn't leak. They are very similar to the containers you get with your takeout order. I am pleased that they did their job as well as possible. Since I didn't need the exact number, I didn't count them! I think if you really want to cut down on plastic waste, you could probably hand wash, dry and reuse it. However, I haven't tried it yet.
