he fits And the screen won't open during typical laptop use

So, for those interested in purchasing this case. I will answer as many questions as possible. This is for MacBook Air m1. So if you don't have an Apple Silicon, check out the other reviews. Blue was a beautiful color. Everything came with no defects, the case fitted perfectly. The clips are slightly ribbed to engage them, so you need a little force to engage them and a lot more force to disengage the clips. My nails and fingertips hurt. The instruction is pretty clear to put the shell on, I just think those who say it doesn't fit didn't push hard enough. Like I said, it takes a long time for the clamps to snap into place. Excellent. So, it snaps in place, fits well, and looks good, AND it opens over 90 degrees. But I wouldn't say it opens to the full extent that the MacBook Air is designed for, somewhere around 130-140 degrees. It probably opens about 95 degrees or so with the shell. I figured I might have installed it wrong so I removed the top shell because the bottom one actually only goes one way. The MacBook still only opens 90 degrees without the top shell. The problem lies with the bottom of the case and the fact that the screen opens so damn close to the bottom half of the laptop. These new MacBooks are truly built to open and close with minimal bezels. tldr: If you don't mind a nice protective case that doesn't let your m1 MacBook Air open higher than vertically because you have the best ergonomic setup like a swivel arm and an adjustable table, then get this case. It's really worth it. If you're on the go and don't have a truly ergonomic workspace and need to tilt the screen almost parallel to your work surface, this won't work simply because of the way Apple designed it to open.
