I've finally replaced the patchwork security cameras that used to FTP video to my NAS with a real security system. It used to take me hours to find tens of thousands of video clips and photos stored on my NAS. Now I can access videos anytime and watch them instantly. Less than a month after my system was updated, I was visited by a county police investigator. He saw the cameras in my house and asked for help creating an escape route for a man who had robbed a gas station on a nearby street. I could calculate the time the car should pass my house, and tell him (positively) that not a single car has passed my house between the time he gave me. Felt pretty good to be able to help so quickly. So to the system. I have 8 POE channels. So far I have installed 4 POE cameras and also another Reolink Wi-Fi camera. Setup was easy. plug and play The system even added my old cameras and I didn't have to do anything. The software is great, but it takes some patience to figure out how to use it. There are literally hundreds of forum posts to help answer almost any question you might have. If you have an "incomprehensible” question, the support service will immediately come to the rescue. I used email to report a small inconsistency, that I found between the NVR display and the Windows client. A few emails later I was informed that the issue had been escalated to the development team to address in the next version of the client. Star support in my opinion. Like everything else, the 5MP cameras are excellent. So far there are no problems. Clear and sharp video. Night vision is far superior to my old cameras. The movement setup is great. You can omit the areas you don't need and highlight the areas you do need. What else can I say? I am very happy with my system. I have a fairly extensive IT background, but I think anyone, even with very little knowledge, can successfully install and configure this Reolink system. It is so easy. but I believe that anyone, even with very little knowledge, can successfully install and configure this Reolink system.
